My name is Dennis Sampier and I am the Owner/Operator for Chick-fil-A Shelby Township.


It has been an amazing journey to become a part of this inspiring brand, one of only five here in Metro Detroit, and 11 across the great state of Michigan!  Chick-fil-A’s mission is to be the world’s most caring company, and we are building a team that will work together to serve amazing food with uncommon kindness right here in our own backyard!  Want to be a part of something great?  Check out the opportunities we have to offer!   

  

I grew up on nearby Harsens Island and graduated from Algonac High School.  I was blessed with hard-working, caring parents that instilled work ethic, independence, kindness, and accountability. 

After graduating from Central Michigan University with a degree in Broadcasting/Journalism, I joined the Detroit Pistons where I spent 20 years in public relations/community relations and led the team’s foundation.  During that time, I also got involved with a wide range of community activities outside of work, including: 

  • The creation of an annual scholarship awarded at Algonac High School. 

  • Volunteer leadership development presentations to local high schools and colleges. 

  • United Way and Michigan Sports Hall of Fame activities. 

  • Sparky Anderson’s CATCH Charity for Children board member. 


My amazing wife Rebekah and I have been married over 20 years.  We have been blessed with three boys: John, Jaxon, and Ryder. 


As Owner/Operator for Chick-fil-A Shelby Township, my role is to hire talented and caring people, cast vision, and create momentum.  The characteristics we look for in our team members are intrinsic motivation, relentless work ethic, hardiness, and consistency, as well as being coachable, caring, and fun!  Our vision is a culture based on teamwork, oaring together as one, putting others before ourselves at every turn, to serve amazing food, but ultimately to serve people.

OUR HISTORY

"Sometimes success is disguised as hard work." - S. Truett Cathy

Chick-fil-A, Inc., Founder S. Truett Cathy started the business in 1946 with his brother, Ben. They opened an Atlanta diner known as The Dwarf Grill. Then in 1967, Truett founded and opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta's Greenbriar Shopping Center. Today, Chick-fil-A has the highest same-store sales and is the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States based on annual system-wide sales.


Cathy was a committed philanthropist dedicated to making a positive influence in the lives of youth. He was the recipient of countless awards over the years, both for his business acumen and for his charity. The current generation of the Cathy family honors Truett's legacy and continues to put his principles into action in both business and philanthropy.


Our founder, Truett Cathy, instilled great philosophies in the brand. For example, he made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946. Truett recognized the importance of closing on Sundays so that he and his employees could set aside one day to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose. This practice is upheld still today with all Chick-fil-A locations. 

Truett Cathy had a special place in his heart for his employees. He believed -- as we still do -- that giving people the opportunities they need to succeed helps all of us prosper. With that in mind, Chick-fil-A has given more than $35 million in college scholarships to Chick-fil-A restaurant team members wishing to pursue higher education. Chick-fil-A Owner Operators, to this day, strive to honor Truett Cathy by living up to his expectation of commitment to the community and their employees.

They follow food safety guidelines and practice safe service in the kitchen to serve our high-quality food to our guests. We are looking for applicants that thrive in a quick-service establishment whether you are cooking with our Grade A ingredients or prepping our fresh, daily delivered produce as part of our Prep Team.
